Visiting Yellowstone Part 3

Today was my first day in the park, traveling to the lower loup. The main road in Yellowstone is a figure eight, which breaks up the park into the upper and lower loop. The lower loop is where the geothermal activity is: Old Faithfull, hot springs, mud pots, and more.

It was rainy that day, affecting the hot springs’ colors, but you can’t control the weather and press on. The first animal of the day was a bald eagle posing on a dead tree with storm clouds in the background. I felt like I needed to say the Pledge of Allegiance or the national anthem.

Still making our way to the loop road, when I see my first Bision. Mama was walking while the baby bison, called red dogs, is trying to get food.

I also saw chipmunks, Elk, and a Grizzle Bear.

Drive on to the first geothermal boardwalk. The dead trees are slowly turning into petrified trees due to the minerals in the hot springs’ runoff water.

Below are the upper and lower falls and the Yellowstone Grand Canyon.
