Fire Sky

This photo was taken on an overcast day in White Sands National Park, New Mexico USA.  The sand was white, the sky was a dull light gray, and the only color was the dark purple/blue mountain range in the distance; overall a bland and boring photo.  I did some photo editing by adding a gradient filter, yellow/orange to orange/red, to create the current photo.  Normally I try to keep people out of my shots but sometimes a single person can provide some great scale to a photo.  To me, this photo looks like the cover so some sci-fi book where the hero is stranded on a strange planet.
